Structuring coflowing and counterflowing currents of polariton condensates in concentric ring-shaped and elliptical potentials

We investigate the current flow of microcavity polariton condensates loaded into concentric ring-shaped potentials. The tunneling between different potential rings results in phase-locked states, depending on separation rings. As a consequence, condensate currents can either same or opposite direction specific configuration In two standard potentials, always circulate (co-flowing current) and vortices formed share topological charge because azimuthally uniform distribution their phase difference. this case, increasing number enables excitation Bessel-like solutions. If potentials are engineered an eye shape with inner ring being outer elliptically ring-shaped, differences along major minor axes ellipse be opposite, which gives rise to counter-flowing currents.
